Enough fun for now

So far we've been having enough fun for now. The weather has been cooler than I'm used to but at least it hasn't been too far below freezing (32F/0C) too often. Since leaving California I headed up to Detroit to say farewell to good 'ol Gogo and catch up with Shannon, Julie, Brian, Matty P (starring in the new Rocky Movie), Kerri and out of no where Scotty Fullbright. It was a CIC reunion at it's best. Had a blast cruisin' in a limo and hitting the town, a far cry from my past 9 months.

After Detroit I've been with Meagan and her family in NW Indiana, home of big red juicy squirrels (more to come soon) and had a great Christmas with her family. I was spoilt, received a bunch of presents and ate way too much. After Christmas we quickly headed up to Minnesota, like Meagan mentioned and we treated to a lot of fun and unique experiences. It was an awesome time. We watched (I officiated/ticked off bib numbers) a biathlon race, ate meat, went skiing, shovelled a driveway, ate meat, drank some good wine, went ice fishing, ate meat, were treated to a traditional MN wild rice soup, watched Nate eat some meat, dressed Jenna up in hunting garb, had numerous snowball fights, ate some more meat, went sledding (this was a lot of fun), Spent NYE with the Big Olaf crew talking about old times and ice cream, and then we can't forget the "Wild Game Feed" where we ate more meat. I officially ate more meat in that 5 days than I have in the past 5 years. That is not an exaggeration. I think I ate everything that has ever dared to fly or jump around in the mid-West. I had a great time and will post some photos soon.

Now I am preparing for a visit to IU home of cool people (Emily and Stephen) and Brad Wales. We'll see how that goes. We also have a few loose ends to take care of before we leave so I best get on my way and try to take care of one or two of them. I hope that you will all enjoy looking at this blog and following it along over the 7 months at least, it'll be a lot better when we get some pic's up for y'all. Take care and a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me to enjoy the past few months!!

Excellent work Cocky!

They look really ferocious. Don't tell me, they were "Coming right for you" and you had no other option than to blast 'em.

What does Squirrel taste like anyway (and don't say bloody chicken!).

I've passed your blog address on to Svenno, and will not take any responsibility for any comments he posts.....

Go get 'em in South America - I think the last time I emailed you was from Honkers after I'd been drugged and robbed (that's my story anyway....) - I only hope you get to share this experience...

As always, take it easy.....

Can't get enough laughs out of Courtney and Meagan eating meat, and more meat, and more more more and more meat!
